Dealing with long covid and rediscovering reading
I was tested positive for the corona virus nearly a year ago. It seems I am one of those 'long covid' cases: what starts out as a relatively mild sickness spent at home, develops into a bumpy and lengthy recovery process.
At the beginning of my long covid process I craved escaping in or with a good book. But the several symptoms made it very hard to do so: heavy headache, extreme fatigue, brainfog that made it hard to string words together and concentrate and an extremely annoying neckpain bothered me for months on end. But then a big big milestone: I could freely read again. What a joy to be able to do so. Now I read more than before the pandemic and before getting sick. So this series for me is also to celebrate reading and my rediscovery of reading and all its joys and merits!
